Chicago Bulls Brass Considering Options Following Draft Combine

CHICAGO, IL.  The 2012 NBA Draft season began with the annual Draft Combine held in the Chicago Bulls backyard at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Anthony Davis is a virtual lock for being selected by the New Orleans Hornets with the number one overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, however, this year's deep draft is notable for the number of quality Power Forwards and Centers that potentially can be impact players and contributors in the league. Several big men impressed the scouts and GMs in attendance with eye-popping physicals.
Kentucky's Anthony Davis will be the #1 Overall Pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, but beyond that anything can happen in this deep draft field.

However, for the Bulls leadership, it is the potential talent that can be found at the end of the first round that they are considering. With such a deep draft, the Bulls are hoping to find a solid contributor in the form of a combo guard who can provide a low cost solution to the absence of Derrick Rose for the duration of his rehab, to the probable loss of C.J. Watson to free agency, and possibly start alongside Rose when the Chicago Bulls' All-Star point guard returns. That is quite a lot to ask of an NBA draft pick that will be the 29th Overall.

Though Bulls' brass has been quiet about the possibility so far, we have come to expect that the Bull's front office is diligently exploring all their options, including trading core players. Because of the seriousness of the injury to Derrick Rose, an overhaul may be the smart move now in order to maximize the value of Chicago's trade assets.

In addition, the names of several superstars have been making into the trade rumor mill, and if the Chicago Bulls are considering a reboot scenario, the front office must figure out how to add a superstar or two.

The Memphis Grizzlies' Rudy Gay is reportedly available.
The Los Angeles Lakers' Pau Gasol is reportedly unhappy in L.A.
The Sacramento Kings' Tyreke Evans is reportedly available.

With potential superstar talent at the top of the 2012 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls must also consider acquiring early draft picks in a reboot scenario.

The Charlotte Bobcats are considering trading their #2 Overall Draft Pick.
The Sacramento Kings are fielding offers for their #5 Overall Draft Pick.
The Toronto Raptors are fielding offers for their #8 Overall Draft Pick.
