The hometown crowd even greeted their All-Star and former youngest NBA MVP ever with chants of "MVP", in high anticipation of the upcoming season, for which hopes are high because of Derrick Rose's return.
After great performances in Las Vegas earning him the starting point guard role for Team USA, DRose continued his steady play in last night's exhibition game in Chicago.
Although he put up just 7 points on 2 of 5 shooting to go with 4 rebounds and 2 assists, his explosive drives to the basket brought back visions of DRose circa 2010-11, when he was the best player in the world and winning the MVP award.
The signature DRose moment came in the 3rd Quarter, when he drove by his defender and after exploding to the basket, switch hands in midair, laying it up with his left. It was just another display of athleticism that not only wowwed the Chicago Bulls fans on hand, but also emphatically said that "DROSE IS BACK!"

But of course, all the talk was about the performance put in by Chicago-product Anthony Davis. The New Orleans Pelicans' big man dominated down the stretch and tallied 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks in aiding Team USA to a 95-78 victory.
Now there is another Chicago-product that went #1 Overall in the NBA Draft who should come home and help the Chicago Bulls win an NBA Championship.
