Will the 2017 Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls Eastern Conference Match-Up Rival 2009?

I was looking forward to the Chicago Bulls tanking their way to an epic lottery pick in this year's NBA Draft when, for some unknown reason, the Chicago Bulls once again defied logic and "bulled" their way to the 8th playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

So, would it be reasonable to hope that a Chicago Bulls team that has the horses and playoff experience to overachieve in the playoffs could pull off an upset of the top seeded Boston Celtics?

Can the 3 Alphas (and Robin Lopez) shock the basketball world by upsetting the #1 Seeded Boston Celtics?
And even better, could they do it in as exciting a fashion as the 2009 Chicago Bulls when they battled the eventual NBA Champion Boston Celtics to a 7-game, 8-overtime first round series that will be remembered as one of the greatest all-time.

As it stands, the Chicago Bulls have a fighter's chance of coming out of the series victorious.

The Chicago Bulls are a better team than their record, however it is the reasons why the Chicago Bulls have underachieved that concern anyone considering giving the Bulls any realistic shot.

The Boston Celtics have a clear edge in coaching, and to have challenged the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top seed and succeeded in taking it takes a team that is firing on all cylinders.

Meanwhile, the inconsistent play and the lack of identity that have defined the 2016-17 Chicago Bulls' season, as well as, a very public benching of Rajon Rondo and reports of his rift with Head Coach Fred Hoiberg, indicate several very real and worrisome reasons for the Chicago Bulls to continue being an unstable commodity.

However, the Chicago Bulls and their fans will get to witness Dwyane Wade's first playoff series in a Chicago Bulls uniform, as the Bulls won their way into the playoffs and simultaneously helped to eliminate the Miami Heat, Wade's former team, from qualifying for the playoffs.

We will be treated to Dwyane Wade's first playoff series in a Chicago Bulls uniform.
Dwyane Wade, who was out nearly a month due to a right elbow fracture, returns rested and just in time to potentially tip the scales in the Chicago Bulls favor. If he can return with the infectious passion for the game that he started the season with, DWade could inspire an epic playoff run that will make these NBA Playoffs very interesting.

With and without DWade, the Chicago Bulls are riding a 7-3 record in their last 10 games heading into the playoffs, including quality wins over other Eastern Conference playoff teams, the Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

These Chicago Bulls lead by the three alphas gets up against quality competition, and what better way to bring out the competitive natures of Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, and Rajon Rondo than the challenge of taking down the team with the best record in the Eastern Conference?

Hold on tight... this is going to be a wild ride.
