The Chicago Bulls have completed a deal to acquire Michael Carter-Williams from the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been in dire need of a replacement for Khris Middleton, who suffered a long-term injury just prior to training camp. In light of the injury to Middleton, the Bucks have made no secret of their need for shooting and perimeter defense. Milwaukee recently completed a deal to acquire Michael Beasley from the Houston Rockets, in part, to address the loss of Khris Middleton's offensive production. The Chicago Bulls' Snell has shown flashes of offensive explosiveness, as well as, the ability to shoot the three (35% from 3-point range last season). In addition, Snell has been a capable perimeter defender that could fill that role for the Bucks in Middleton's absence. In exchange, the Milwaukee Bucks would be sending over Michael Carter-Williams, the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year. Watch Chicago Bulls Basketball Live Online for FREE! After being traded from the Philadelphia 76ers, Carter-Williams has seen his season averages decline, finishing the 2015-16 season with 11.5 PPG, 5.2 APG, 5.1 RPG in his first full season with the Bucks. Despite this, it's hard to overlook the youth and potential that the 6' 6", 25 year old point guard from Syracuse brings; he had two triple-doubles in his rookie season, and began his sophomore season with 3 more prior to ending up in Milwaukee. With Rajon Rondo signed to only a 2 year deal, the Chicago Bulls would have a capable and experienced big point guard that can take over if the team and Rondo were to part ways. The trade would give both players a fresh start on teams that could still sign them to an extension on their rookie contract prior to October 31st. Butler Continues to Help Chicago Bulls Grind Their Way to the Next Round

MILWAUKEE, WI.  As the Chicago Bulls take a 2-0 series lead up the I-94 to the Bradley Center, or in many ways, their home away from home, due to the large number of Chicago Bulls fans usually making the trip to Milwaukee to see their beloved Bulls, fans can not help but look forward to the next round of the playoffs, and a probable date with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Jimmy Butler has been the best Chicago Bulls player this season and this playoff series. It's true that the Chicago Bulls are still two wins away from advancing to the second round, but with the ugly victory over the Bucks in Game 2, the Chicago Bulls displayed one of their greatest advantages over several previous incarnations of the Chicago Bulls playoff teams... the depth of the team, and the emergence of Jimmy Butler, the likely Most Improved Player of the Year. It has only been a few years since Jimmy Butler, as a second-year player starting in his first NBA Playoffs, held his own going toe-to-toe with Lebron James in the 2013 NBA Playoffs. In his first playoff match-up against Lebron James, Butler looked and played undaunted, tallying 21 points and 14 rebounds while playing all 48 minutes of the game. The Bulls shocked the NBA world with the upset win, but undermanned, the Chicago Bulls would go on to lose the series to the eventual NBA Champions. Since that series, Jimmy Butler has been tabbed as the starting shooting guard for the Chicago Bulls, and after an inconsistent first season in the role, "Jimmy Buckets" has been one of the cornerstones of the Chicago Bulls this season, along with newly acquired double-double machine, Pau Gasol. Butler made his arrival "official" with his selection to the 2015 NBA All-Star Game along with fellow Chicago Bull, Pau Gasol. So far in the 2015 NBA Playoffs, Jimmy Butler has been the best Chicago Bulls player, and his play down the stretch of the 4th quarter of Game 2 earned the Chicago Bulls the win when it seemed that the Bucks might hang in there long enough to steal a game in Chicago. Butler's emergence makes it impossible for a long-time Chicago Bulls fan to not dream about the Bulls' next playoff series with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Until then, the 2015 Chicago Bulls look to go up to Milwaukee to take a game or possibly close-out the series before returning to Chicago after Game 4. The Bulls play Game 3 tonight, 7PM CT on NBA-TV or watch it live here. Our Chicago Bulls Number One Question of the Game: Will the Chicago Bulls sweep the series? Please tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Rose, Chicago Bulls Look Like Bonafide Contenders In Commanding Game 1 Win

CHICAGO, IL.  Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls used their 2015 NBA Playoff opener to remind the East that they were forecast by many as the top team in the East.

And Rose used his first NBA Playoff game since 2011 to remind the league that he is going to make an impact on the 2015 NBA Playoffs.

The Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose dominated last season's Rookie of the Year, Michael Carter-Williams.

The Chicago Bulls wrestled the lead back from the Milwaukee Bucks after the first quarter, and by halftime, the Chicago Bulls' 9 point lead on the Milwaukee Bucks was a chasm that the visitors could not overcome.

Despite some sloppy play that resulted in the Chicago Bulls' 19 turnovers, the Bulls looked sharp in sharing the ball, accumulating 30 assists on 38 made baskets, and the starting unit, after falling behind early, came together to close the gap. It boded well for a unit that played limited minutes together all season due to a bevy of injuries.

But for Chicago Bulls fans, it was about Derrick Rose's return to the playoffs.

And Rose did not disappoint.

Rose was in attack mode from tipoff, driving to the basket without fear. Then early in the second half, Rose rained 3-pointers and finish the game with 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go along with 7 assists.

If Rose can continue his aggressive play, the Chicago Bulls can easily make the case for being the best and most complete team in the Eastern Conference.

What are your thoughts on the Chicago Bulls' dominant win over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Playoffs? Please let us know what you think in the comments below!

Rose Silences The Naysayers and Closes Out 95 - 87 Win Over Bucks At United Center North With 30 Points and Career-High 17 Assists

Milwaukee, WI. To all those out there who think that the MVP race is still open for discussion, you have your answer.

Every time the doubters, many of whom also happen to work for Miami newspapers and media outlets, crawl out of the woodwork, Derrick Rose has an answer for them. He lets his game do the talking, and tonight, it was a confident roar.

DRose led a 12 - 0 run to close out the Bucks by attacking the basket relentlessly.
Even playing an away game in the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI, Derrick Rose was still serenaded by the "MVP" chants that seem to follow him everywhere he goes nowadays. Affectionately called United Center North by all the Chicago Bulls fans making the trek up the Lake Michigan coastline to see their beloved Bulls, the Bradley Center roared with partisan support for the visiting team, especially when DRose had the ball in his hands.

The support came in really handy as the Bulls went into the 4th quarter with a 5 point deficit. However, the Bulls have grown accustomed to the situation in putting together 20 wins in their last 23 games, especially lately.

In their upward climb to the top of the Eastern Conference standings, the Bulls have found their groove, and now, they have a routine. The way the 1990's Chicago Bulls teams used to look to Michael Jordan in the 4th quarter to carry the scoring load, that heavylifter is now NBA MVP leader, Derrick Rose.

Although many players from many teams have tried to be what Jordan was to the 1990's Bulls, few players have been successful. But despite being the only focal point of opposing defenses, Rose neither complains about the pressure nor does he fail to deliver when his team needs him the most.

DRose has the Bulls on top in the Eastern Conference and believing they can win any game.
In recent games, Rose has excelled as the clutch player that the Chicago Bulls will need if they are to make some real noise in the playoffs after this amazing 2010-11 regular season campaign.

On this night, when his team needed him to dominate, Rose put up 10 points and 4 assists in the final quarter of the game, accounting for 18 of the Bulls' 26 fourth quarter points, and almost single-handedly outscored the Bucks in the period, who could only manage 13 points against the stingy Chicago defense. Derrick Rose finished with 30 points and a career-best 17 assists.

It was just another statement game, dedicated to the doubters.

Despite giving the MVP to Lebron James the last two years because he was able to make his teammates better and "lead" his teammates to the best record, now that definition is not good enough.

Now it is also about statistics. Rarely has the top statistical player been given the NBA MVP Award, for there are already individual awards for leading the league in a statistical category. Which stats are the most important and why? Scoring? Assists? Well, the one statistic that does seem to exemplify a player's value to their team is some combination of usage and wins, essentially his relative contribution to the team's wins... short of that, none of the statistics that is oft quoted by these ignorant Miami sports writers is relevent.

And dumbest of all, some would say its about being the best player in the league. Well, why do we wait for any games to be played at all then? Lebron James is pretty much the concensus most gifted player, but what has that gotten him in 7 seasons as a pro? Literally, zero (rings).

What the naysayers fail to comprehend or acknowledge is the Valuable part of Most Valuable Player.

Israel Gutierrez of the Miami Herald thinks someone other than DRose should be MVP.
Historically, the major factor in being named the NBA MVP was winning. Many people want to change the rules to make it a statistical award, but the fact is that the best player on the team who has the best record in the league has won the vast majority of regular season MVP awards.

When the teams with the best record didn't have a clear cut most outstanding player (i.e. Boston's Big 3 in the 2007-8 NBA season), the award went to one of the next best teams, and their best player and leader (Kobe Bryant, that year).

This "system" gave the award to Lebron James for two seasons in a row, but it will not allow him to get it for a third because of the quality of players he plays with. To have two players who can be called "Most Valuable" on the same team makes neither one "Most Valuable". It is an impossibility in a team game.

Fortunately, public sentiment has been way ahead of both the curve and the so-called "experts", in realizing what ESPN and other biased media outlets fail to comprehend. You don't need a calculator or a complicated formula or algorithm to understand the Value that Derrick Rose has to the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls have had top defenses before in the recent past, but could not find a consistent source of clutch scoring for it to matter. In Derrick Rose, they now have a multifaceted playmaker who can take the ball to the basket at will or find teammates if the opposing defense keys on him.

His play makes his teammates better. His proven clutch play gives his teammates confidence. His work ethic makes his teammates want to get in the gym. And his new-found swagger has his teammates believing they can catch the San Antonio Spurs for the best record in the league. That's leadership. That's what being the NBA MVP is about.
