And Rose used his first NBA Playoff game since 2011 to remind the league that he is going to make an impact on the 2015 NBA Playoffs.
The Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose dominated last season's Rookie of the Year, Michael Carter-Williams. |
The Chicago Bulls wrestled the lead back from the Milwaukee Bucks after the first quarter, and by halftime, the Chicago Bulls' 9 point lead on the Milwaukee Bucks was a chasm that the visitors could not overcome.
Despite some sloppy play that resulted in the Chicago Bulls' 19 turnovers, the Bulls looked sharp in sharing the ball, accumulating 30 assists on 38 made baskets, and the starting unit, after falling behind early, came together to close the gap. It boded well for a unit that played limited minutes together all season due to a bevy of injuries.
But for Chicago Bulls fans, it was about Derrick Rose's return to the playoffs.
And Rose did not disappoint.
Rose was in attack mode from tipoff, driving to the basket without fear. Then early in the second half, Rose rained 3-pointers and finish the game with 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go along with 7 assists.
If Rose can continue his aggressive play, the Chicago Bulls can easily make the case for being the best and most complete team in the Eastern Conference.
