Carmelo To Chicago Bulls: Doing Their Due Diligence

To anyone thinking that Carmelo Anthony's interest in playing for the Chicago Bulls is not real, remember when we thought Lebron might be coming to Chicago?

How much time did Lebron spend in Chicago during the several weeks that ESPN and others were speculating that Chicago might be an ideal destination? I recall that it was a long presentation, but ONE very short visit.

Carmelo has a National Championship; is he destined to get his first NBA Championship with the Chicago Bulls?

In contrast, it is refreshing to see that Carmelo Anthony is doing what any other conscientious family man would be doing before considering moving for a job.

Melo has been quietly doing his due diligence and checking out the city. He is also wisely making contact with the people that would be his best advisers when he becomes a superstar in the city of Chicago.

Part of his recon has been to spend time with Scottie and Larsa Pippen and their family. Who better to know how bright the spotlight is as a superstar on the Chicago Bulls than former Chicago Bulls Point Forwards and 6-Time NBA Champion Scottie Pippen. And who else would know what it would be like to bring a championship to the city of Chicago than Scottie?

Carmelo Anthony with the Pippen brood around Chicago recently.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls organization is likewise doing their due diligence.

Chicago Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau has reportedly made inquiries about Carmelo Anthony of several of his previous head coaches.

And speaking of former coaches, Jim Boeheim, who coached Team USA, as well as, the Syracuse Orangemen to the National Championship in 2003 with Carmelo Anthony as his star player, speculated on the Waddle and Silvy Show that Melo would leave money on the table to join the Chicago Bulls.

If Boeheim is correct, Welcome to the Chicago Bulls, Carmelo Anthony! Next stop, NBA Championship!

With the advanced planning on both sides, there is actually good reason to be optimistic that Carmelo Anthony and the Chicago Bulls will be a match if both sides want it to be.

Tell us what you think of Carmelo around town, and Jim Boeheim's comments about Carmelo's desire to come to Chicago and win in the comments below!

NBA 2K13 Will Feature Michael Jordan and the Rest of The Dream Team

If you are a lover of Chicago Bulls Basketball, or NBA basketball in general, and love video games, this is HUGE news.

You can control the roster of The Dream Team (minus Scottie Pippen) in 2K Sports' NBA 2K13.

The 1992 USA Men's Basketball Team, better know as The Dream Team, has been licensed by 2K Sports to appear in the 2013 edition of their best-selling NBA basketball game, NBA 2K13.

It’s the Dream Team’s first depiction in a video game since “Team USA Basketball” for the Sega Genesis in 1992.

Unfortunately of Chicago Bulls fans, every player on the illustrious Dream Team's roster will be included except for Scottie Pippen, who isn’t part of the National Basketball Retired Players Association and couldn’t come to terms with 2K Sports.

Here's who you will find (in case you haven't committed the roster of the greatest basketball team of all time to memory):

PG:  Magic Johnson, John Stockton
SG:  Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler
SF:  Larry Bird, Chris Mullen
PF:  Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Christian Laettner
C:    David Robinson, Patrick Ewing

With all the talk about the 2012 USA Men's Basketball team being able to hang with The Dream Team, this is what video games are all about, being able to simulate or play out match-ups that we can never see in real life. While we can never really answer the question of "who is better?", we can simulate the match-up 999 times and possibly get an idea!

Anyway, we are excited to see what else NBA 2K13 has in store for fans of the series and looking forward to the game's release on October 2nd.

Who would you put on a Dream Team of today's players to take on the 1992 Olympic Dream Team? We want your rosters in the comments below!

Chicago Bulls Past, Present, and Future: First Championship Team Honored, Next Championships Predicted

CHICAGO,IL. It was a night to honor the Chicago Bulls and the franchise's first NBA Championship team that featured Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, and a perfectly complementary group of dependable role players.

PAST:
The Chicago Bulls won their first NBA Championship in 1991, led by NBA Legends Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Together, they were winners of 6 NBA titles with the Bulls. The 1991 NBA Championship team also included Craig Hodges, Stacey King, Horace Grant, Cliff Levingston, John Paxson, Will Perdue, Bill Cartwright, B.J. Armstrong, Scott Williams, and Dennis Hopson.

Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan formed one of the greatest duos in NBA history.

PRESENT:
From the tipoff, the present-day Chicago Bulls squad paid homage to the past with their NBA MVP leader Derrick Rose leading the way.

Derrick Rose kicking the ball out to 3-point shooters; the Bulls set a new team record with 18 treys.

Coming off of a big second half last night against Atlanta, Rose continued his hot shooting and put up 17 points in the first quarter, leading the Bulls to a 37 - 17 lead over the visiting Utah Jazz. The Jazz would not get close after that.

Rose finished with 26 points. But more importantly than his stats, Rose set the tone in both the 3rd quarter of the game against the Atlanta Hawks, as well as, tonight to start the game.

It was something that Michael Jordan used to do in leading the Chicago Bulls to the NBA championship in 1991 and five more times after that, and with each game, we are observing the evolution of Derrick Rose into a Jordan-like player in his approach to the game.

FUTURE:
Michael Jordan has been there before, and a few days ago, he has said that Derrick Rose is the best player in the league and is deserving of the NBA Most Valuable Player award.

Jordan predicted 6 more NBA Championships for the Bulls; does that include this year?

It is more than his numbers. It is his value to his team. And right now, he is the engine that has powered the Chicago Bulls to 6 consecutive wins, 10 consecutive wins at home, and after the easy victory over the Jazz, into a 1st place tie with Boston for the East's number one seed.

When his team needs him the most, he makes the shot or he makes the play. No one else has done that this year for his team more than Rose.

Michael Jordan also had one more prediction; he forecasted, jokingly, that 6 more NBA titles were in store for the Chicago Bulls. Could those 6 be starting this season? Many a truth is said in jest...
