Rumors were accurate that the Chicago Bulls had been targeting the Denver Nuggets guard in order to add depth to the guard rotation.
The Chicago Bulls have resigned Kirk Hinrich to a two year deal, but one of their primary contributors at point guard last season, D.J. Augustin, was picked up by the Detroit Pistons after averaging 13.1 PPG, 4.4 APG, 1.8 RPG, and 0.7 SPG.
Augustin was picked up by the Chicago Bulls after he was waived midway through the season.
The Chicago Bulls and Head Coach Tom Thibodeau have had extremely good fortune with taking point guards off the scrap heap and giving them a great scoring point guard focused system to play in that rejuvenates their career.
Augustin, along with Nate Robinson, were featured guards in Thibs' system.
Brooks is a scoring point guard in a similar mold that the Bulls hope to work into the role.
