Carmelo to Chicago Bulls: ESPN's Tom Penn Examines the Financials

Joakim Noah not only dropped a triple-double (13 pts, 12 reb, 14 ast) on the New York Knicks at the United Center, but he dropped another splash of fuel on the heated Carmelo Leaves New York debate.

Carmelo could be getting wide open jumpshots next season playing with Joakim Noah and the Chicago Bulls.
Despite having the 2nd highest payroll in the NBA, the hapless Knicks were easily dismantled by the disciplined Chicago Bulls in a 109-90 loss that made the Bulls look like an offensive juggernaut (cheeseburgers for everyone courtesy of the New York Knicks letting the Bulls top 100 points).

So, ESPN is now on the Carmelo to Chicago Bulls chatter, with former NBA GM Tom Penn explaining how the financials of an off-season deal might work:

Even from a financial perspective, it sounds like the Chicago Bulls are the ideal situation for Carmelo Anthony to not only compete and win his first NBA Championship, but although he will have to sacrifice some salary the way Lebron did to join his friends in Miami, going to a big market like Chicago will mean several other financial opportunities.

In addition, winning a Championship in Chicago will build up his brand and place him on the same level as Lebron in the conversation for one of the top players of all time.

What do you think about Carmelo coming to the Chicago Bulls? Do you think he will be a good addition, and what will we need to give up to acquire Melo? Please tell us what you think in the comments below!
